Background-Making a Difference
A young American Rabbi, raised in Queens, NY had a vision to reach out to Israeli youth in the south of Israel, where kiruv-krovim is less prevalent. Together with his wife, originally from Pittsburgh, they moved to Ofakim in the Negev in 2010 to found a new Yeshiva, which has filled a need in Beer Sheva.
Mission Statement
Today, struggling Israeli youth, are having a hard time coping with life's challenges. While they long to succeed, too many do not find their place in the regular educational system and wind up dropping out, effectively negating their chances of a vital, productive life. Yeshivat Eitan was created to fill this need.
Project Description
- Warm, individually-tailored program encourages each student to overcome personal struggles, committing to Jewish learning and character growth
- One-on-one learning for beginning students with experienced faculty member
- Staff: Educational experience, Torah knowledge and models of refined character
- Faculty and staff personally dedicated to students' growth and learning
Goals and Objectives
- To help struggling Israeli youth find their role in Torah Judaism.
- To provide foundational tools to be responsible, loyal Torah Jews throughout their lives.
- To build upstanding, caring and dedicated members of Israeli society.
